Reflecting, Uniting, and Standing Strong
Dear Friend,
As we reflect on the election results, we’re reminded that this marks the start of a new chapter for our city and country. Whether you’re feeling hopeful or apprehensive, we are all in this together, and now is a time to reflect, recharge, and recommit to the values we hold dear.
In San Francisco, this election brings the potential for significant changes in leadership and policy. While the future may feel uncertain, it also presents an opportunity. The real work begins now, and Community Forward will continue to build a safer, more compassionate city.
For over 45 years, Community Forward SF has adapted to meet the needs of our most vulnerable, especially women facing homelessness and violence. Our programs, including A Woman’s Place as well as the city’s first medical respite initiative, are guided by our core values of love, integrity, people-centeredness, excellence, and equity. We remain dedicated to these principles regardless of the election’s outcome.
Now, more than ever, San Francisco needs strong, unwavering dedication to those most vulnerable in our community, especially women. Women have always been central to our mission and are at the heart of our plans for a brighter, more equitable city. In times of crisis, it is often women—particularly those facing homelessness, trauma, and violence—who bear the heaviest burdens. We are here to stand by them and by all who need us.
Let’s take time to process the results, but then let’s organize. Together, we’ve faced countless challenges and have always come together to bring hope to those most in need. Community Forward will be here—steadfast and ready.
Thank you for being part of our community and standing with the communities we serve. Your support fuels these efforts, and together, we will meet the challenges ahead.
In community,
Sammie & John
