Community Forward's John Uselman Named Finalist for Bay Area Nonprofit CFO of the Year Award

Community Forward is proud to announce that our former Chief Financial Officer and newly appointed Co-Chief Executive Officer John Uselman, was nominated and selected as one of the top CFOs in the Bay Area. John was one of three finalists in the nonprofit CFO category for the prestigious Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards, hosted by the San Francisco Business Times in partnership with Larkin Street Youth Services in late September.

John’s nomination is the result of a comprehensive selection process, led by a committee of business and community leaders, that identifies top CFOs across six categories. The nomination celebrates his ability to navigate the financial complexities of the nonprofit sector, while ensuring that Community Forward continues to deliver on its mission to serve vulnerable populations.

The 2024 Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards ceremony took place on Thursday, September 19, at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero Center in San Francisco. The event, now in its 18th year, honors the invaluable contributions of financial leaders throughout the region. This year’s celebration will include a networking reception, seated dinner, awards ceremony, and an after-party to recognize the incredible achievements of finalists like John.

Since its inception, the event has raised more than $7.5 million to support Larkin Street Youth Services, a nonprofit committed to empowering homeless and at-risk youth in San Francisco. We are thrilled to see John’s hard work and dedication recognized in such a meaningful way, and we invite the Community Forward family to join us in congratulating him and wishing him luck at this special event!
