Proposition A Triumph: A New Chapter in Safe Housing for San Francisco's Most Vulnerable
In a momentous gathering in April, we celebrated the approval of Proposition A, the $300 million bond aimed at enhancing affordable housing. This landmark initiative allocates $30 million specifically to provide safe housing for women who are survivors of violence, marking a significant advancement in our efforts to tackle homelessness and support vulnerable populations.
We heard heartfelt comments from local leaders such as Supervisors Chan, Preston, Ronen, and Board President Aaron Peskin, along with pivotal figures from the Women’s Housing Coalition and Kimberley Ellis of the SF Department on the Status of Women. Supervisor Connie Chan emphasized the promise of Prop A as a beacon of hope, stating, “This is just the start...we are going to make sure that no women, children, or families are left on the streets.”
We extend our deepest thanks to the San Francisco community for championing women’s safety and supporting Prop A, truly demonstrating that our values align with our actions.
